description
- Chile is a small country, but well known for its breathtaking residential architecture. This book shines a light on the extraordinarily diverse contemporary houses of Chile, encompassing a range of architectural styles and ethos, while simultaneously presenting the beauty of Chile’s manifold geographies. 56 projects, from both established architectural firms and the next generation vanguard, including Mathias Klotz, Luis Izquierdo & Antonia Lehmann, Undurraga + Devés Arquitectos, Cecilia Puga, Pezo von Ellrichshausen, and LAND Arquitectos, range from minimalist geometric volumes to intricate oceanfront residences. Highlighting the connection with nature, these residences are imbued with the essence of land and sea. Each house is documented comprehensively with detailed photography, sections and plans, and placed into context by descriptive texts to give readers a privileged look at the best of Chilean domestic architecture.
